The looming uncertainty and life-altering disruptions of this past year encouraged me to once again focus on nature photography.

Is there something to gain by taking pictures? Or Is photography, and photo documentation, a distraction from the experiences of life?

After years of experimentation and self-discovery with photography, capturing spontaneous images on the street has become my main focus as a photographer.

I continue my exploration of my old photos and discuss what I believe to be some of my most formative years as a photographer.

I revisit my first photographs, 16 years later, and explore the reasons why I take pictures.
